Three – Vin Diesel
When you think of the Fast and the Furious franchise, you think of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. After the tragic death of Walker, the franchise has gotten even more popular. Crushing the record for foreign film openings in countries like China. As lead, producer Diesel makes a killing. This seems to be the secret to the top actors these days, getting a cut from both sides of the movie.
Two – Jackie Chan
China’s biggest entertainment export is one of the few who understands both industries. One of his biggest recent film successes was Dragon Blade. If you haven’t heard of it, that’s because it has not released in the US yet. The movie made $120 million in the Chinese box office and is reported to have netted Chan $10 million dollars in addition to his earning as lead of the film.
One – Robert Downey Jr
This should not come as a surprise to anyone. Robert Downey Jr is Iron Man. And his presence alone can elevate a movie like Captain America to Avengers level box office openings. His 2015 earnings were mostly from the world wide mega blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron.
