Driving on my way home from work today, I was unable to really find anything on the regular old terrestrial radio that interested me in any such way. I then pulled out my smart phone and decided to surf the Internet for some radio stations online, while I was parked of course. What I found was pretty remarkable, as I was able to start with the top 40 and from there hear just about everything going on in the world.
I never imagined that I would be able to hear about current events, the news, weather, or anything such as that simply by utilizing my cellular phone. It was not that long ago that a cellular phone was a rarity. Now though in this day and age it is more than a common asset that just about everyone owns. Not only do they have a cellular phone, they have smart phone that has access to applications, e-mail, web browsing, and more. Listening to broadcasts over your phone has never been easier and is changing radio as we know it.
When I was driving and listening to some Katy Perry, I got a bit bored and flipped over to a very nice jazz music station. From there, I went to the talk radio station. The end result of all of this was that I was turned on to a whole new way to listen to radio. Online Radio Stations such as these are going to essentially end my days of listening to endless commercials on terrestrial radio.
